SOPA Protests
The SOPA bill intends to help hack away at the piracy issues our media faces. Unfortunately, because of legislators ignorance and ineptitude to do further research, the bill has been drafted to handicap a vast number of internet sites and in turn, will do almost nothing towards pirates. At this point in the SOPA situation, the massive petitions and social protests have made American's voice known. If Congress does not take into account not only the general opinion and protest but also the professionally informed opinion and disapproval of internet technicians, then it will prove that Congress is not doing its job to represent the American people. I think that this is a huge issue, but in the end, Elected Officials not responding to their people's voice is a far more drastic and frightening issue.
